2024 TAB Show Agenda Embraces New Tech, Practices to Chart Future Growth

- Workshops for Continental Transmitters, RF Training, CRO Certification

Understanding audience preferences, growing revenue, recruiting talent, adapting workflows, integrating new technology, and exploring evolving competitive opportunities are key to success in today’s world of broadcasting and it’s all at your fingertips at the TAB Show Aug. 7-8.

Moving to its new home at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions in Round Rock, just 23 miles north of the previous location in gridlocked downtown Austin, the 2024 TAB Show presents three tracks of top-notch training content for managers, marketing executives and engineering teams.

It also features a 125-booth exhibit hall showcasing cutting edge gear from the industry’s top vendors, three special add-on workshops for engineers and administrators, and a closing Awards Gala presenting the Radio and TV Stations of the Year, Bonner McLane Public Service Awards, and the most coveted leadership awards in Texas broadcasting.

Golfers take to the links early on Aug. 7 at Forest Creek Golf Club, an easy drive from the host hotel, and guests can choose to extend their stays a day or two with spouses or family to enjoy the arcade, water park and other offerings at Kalahari, renowned for its “business in the front, party in the back” personality.

NEW TECH WORKSHOPS OFFERED

TAB is expanding the workshops available during the conference beyond the Chief Radio Operator certification class introduced in 2023.

New this year for an additional fee:

  • Continental Transmitter Maintenance Workshop – A day and a half workshop featuring hands-on repair and servicing of a Continental 816 transmitter.
  • Fundamentals of RF for Broadcasters – A half-day workshop on the fundamentals of RF and related project planning, troubleshooting and maintaining a high-power broadcast transmission facility.

SESSIONS ON TAP

Overall, the program includes 26 distinct sessions for broadcast managers, marketers and engineers presented by more than 30 speakers hailing from across the country.

Headline speakers include ARD’s Jerry Gumbert, futurist Dr. Shawn Dubravac, technologist Daniel Anstandig with Futuri, auto expert John Tkac, and Jacobs Media’s Paul Jacobs, among others.

The agenda was developed by a committee of more than two dozen Texas broadcasters with an emphasis on avoiding excessive cross-programming to ensure attendees can experience as much of the content as possible.

Registration fees for members start at $105/person, with additional fees for the workshops. Fees increase June 22.
