Electricity Discounts

See how much you could save on your station's electricity costs through TAB's Group Electricity Discount Program.

TAB Associate Member Power Brokers LLC is a national energy consulting firm headquartered in Dallas with offices in Chicago, New York and Maryland. They're the largest energy consultant in Texas, negotiating more than $250 million in contracts since deregulation began.

Note: customers of electric cooperatives and municipally-owned utilities are precluded by state law from participating in the deregulated electricity market.

Process

  1. Contact TAB Deputy Director Oscar Rodriguez.
    He'll send you the necessary forms and put you in touch with our program manager at Power Brokers.
  2. Complete the simple paperwork to determine how much you can save.
    Stations will receive quotes within two weeks of submitting the necessary paperwork.
    As with all commodities, the electricity bids will have a fairly short fuse.
    Be ready to execute these contracts promptly.
    Contract terms can be for one, two or three years.
  3. Complete two short forms and submit them to Power Brokers with a copy of the latest monthly bill for each of your meters.
    Power Brokers will compile a 12-month history file and audit to ensure that you have been billed correctly and not overcharged during the past year. The firm also will locate the lowest energy cost provider for stations based on their unique needs.
  4. If the savings are satisfactory, sign a contract with the new retail electric provider (REP).
  5. Power Brokers will continue to monitor the markets and audit the bills once per quarter to ensure they are correct.

If there is a problem, Power Brokers will take care of it. If the savings are not satisfactory, there is no obligation on your part. Power Brokers will continue to shop for better rates for a station until they secure one that is acceptable.
